Preventative Maintenance

Whether it's for a home or business, preventative maintenance is the key to heading off electrical and data problems before they become expensive. Preventative maintenance provides the ability to identify problems before they happen and coordinate an orderly repair.

Power System Audit

Voltage surges, voltage fluctuations, the lack of backup power availability; all of these effects cause problems for critical systems operating within a home or business. Systems such as computers, point-of-sale equipment, certain machines and other sensitive apparatus must have the voltage systems serving them constant for peak operating performance. Buschur Electric can analyze your power load and make sure your power distribution are at the levels they should be. No matter what the power issues are, Buschur Electric will audit your power system requirements and show you the best way to keep it running and trouble-free.

Thermal Imaging: Hotspots

Electricity is an important source of energy that can make our homes and businesses operate efficiently. However, electricity does not always operate efficiently and can create disastrous problems when connections get hot. An electrical system with hotspots, or places in the system where too much heat is generated, is a sure problem waiting to happen. Buschur Electric has specially trained Thermographic technicians who can perform simple tests with our Thermographic scanning device. This test identifies electrical hotspots in your electrical system early on before major problems occur.

Alternate Power Supply

By installing a Generator Backup and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) at your home or business, you can ensure that data is protected and the lights, power, and critical systems continue to stay on even when everyone else is in the dark.

Buschur Electric can set up a customized Preventative Maintenance Program that can be performed at convenient hours and during a slower business season.

Energy Facts

  • Only 10% of energy in a light bulb is used to create light. Ninety percent of a light bulb's energy creates heat. Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), on the other hand, use about 80% less electricity than conventional bulbs and last up to 12 times as long.
  • Enough sunlight reaches the earth's surface each minute to satisfy the world's energy demands-for an entire year.
  • The amount of energy Americans use doubles every 20 years.
  • From 2008 to 2030, world energy consumption is expected to increase more than 55%.
  • Google accounts for roughly 0.013% of the world's energy use. It uses enough energy to continuously power 200,000 homes.
  • In 2007, wind produced 1.3% of the electricity in the world. The world's largest wind farm is the Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center near Abilene, Texas. Covering 92 square miles, the center has more than 400 turbines that are 262 feet tall. They produce 735 megawatts of electricity.
  • Approximately 30% of energy used in buildings is used inefficiently or unnecessarily.
  • Over 86% of the energy used in the U.S. each year is from the combustion of fossil fuels.
  • Lighting currently accounts for about 20% of U.S. electricity consumption.
  • In the average home, 75% of the electricity used to power home electronics is consumed while the products are turned off. The average desktop computer idles at 80 watts, while the average laptop idles at 20 watts. A Sony PlayStation 3 uses about 200 watts and nearly as much when idle. Idle power consumes more electricity than all the solar panels in America combined.
